After weeks of keeping Jack’s cancer news “private,” I finally found the courage to share our emotionally sensitive news on social media. I felt like it was time to be vulnerable and authentic with our current reality. It was both anxiety-provoking and relieving at the same time, but the introvert in me knew that this level of transparency with the public would not only place our family into the spotlight (which I dread), but also elicit much-needed love, prayers and support. It was all so overwhelming, but in the most beautiful way possible.
That evening, Litsa Rivers, a dear friend of our family, messaged me saying that she had connected with an Etsy shop to begin a fundraising project for Jackson. I am so grateful for Litsa and for Lindsay at Louis and Finn, the local Etsy shop that so willingly took on this project to support total strangers.
Louis and Finn is known for their dainty, personalized beaded bracelets, so they created a “Fight Like Jack” bracelet just for Jack in support of our journey. As stated on Louis and Finn's Etsy listing, "'Fight like Jack’ bracelets will help share his story, multiply prayers and support the Simpson family during this unimaginable time. $2 from every sale will go right to the Simpsons as they walk through Jack’s Journey. Let’s lift them up!"
Litsa personally sold an initial 20 bracelets as a “trial run“ and sold out within a couple hours. The remaining bracelets are now available for purchase directly through Louis and Finn’s Etsy shop, and they have agreed to donate $2 from every purchase towards Jack’s Journey.
