JACK’S JOURNEY

The Amazing Story & Strength of Jackson Levi

ABOUT

JACKSON LEVI: God has been gracious; has shown favor

Jackson Levi Simpson was born prematurely on August 4, 2018 and fought for 102 days in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) before finally coming home. Jackson (also called Jack) is one year old and currently lives in Charlotte, North Carolina with his parents, Jeremy and Deonna Simpson. In his first year of life, he has overcome so many obstacles including multiple intubations and extubations, two brain surgeries, gastronomy feeding tube and hernia repair procedures, and several X-rays, CT scans, MRIs and blood transfusions.

Jack is truly our miracle baby that doctors thought would not survive. Not only is he surviving, but Jack is THRIVING. He attends several ongoing medical appointments and completes intensive physical, occupational, and speech therapies weekly due to developmental delays.

Jack is now facing his biggest battle yet, as he was diagnosed in December 2019 with a rare form of childhood liver cancer, called hepatoblastoma. He has undergone several chemotherapy treatments through the St. Jude Affiliate Clinic at Novant Presbyterian Children's Hospital. In March 2020, Jackson and his parents found out that he was in need of a liver transplant. They packed their bags and are currently in Nashville, Tennessee for Jackson's liver transplant surgery and extensive recovery journey. He is being treated by a stellar pediatric transplant team at Vanderbilt Children's Hospital. Despite the odds, Jack has been a symbol of strength and resilience. He approaches every day with a smile on his face, proving to everyone he meets that miracles are always possible if you have a little faith. Thank you for joining us on this journey, and we welcome all of the prayers and support that you are willing to give along the way.

With Love,

The Simpson Family
